We're PatternForge — a small studio drawing repeating patterns for fabric, working out how woven and knitted structures behave, and testing gentler ways to make cloth.

A repeat has to survive the mill. So we draw with the finishing route in mind — shrinkage, registration, yarn twist, how a motif reads at half a metre and at half an inch. The drawing and the making are the same conversation.

What we make
Seamless repeats
Half-drop, brick, and tossed layouts drawn to tile cleanly at any print width, delivered with colourways and repeat notes.
Woven & knitted structures
Dobby, jacquard, and weft-knit development — from yarn choice and draft to loom-ready files and hand samples.
Lower-impact materials
Fibre swaps, natural and low-water dye routes, and mill trials that keep the hand of the cloth intact.
Small studio, mill-ready files
Most projects start with a conversation about the end fabric — apparel, upholstery, bedding — then move through sketch, repeat, colourway, and strike-off. You get layered artwork, a repeat spec, and colour references your mill can act on.
